Betsy Griggs is a farmer's wife who appears in the first book and the TV series. She is the wife of Tom Griggs, who shoots dead both of the pheasants. In the book she locks the Farthing Wood animals in the storeroom and shows them to her husband. In the TV series she is hardly seen, but she is shown cooking Mrs Pheasant, who has been killed by her husband, Tom, and places the cooked bird on the window where she is later seen by Pheasant.
