Jeff is a white deer who appears in the last three episodes of the third TV series. He geered at Trey when he got trapped by a tree and refused to help Laird free him. He is then the final deer to battle Laird for leadership of the herd after the resignation of Trey. Several of the Farthing Wood animals who have came to watch the battled predicted that Jeff would be too strong for Laird, but Fox had great faith that Laird would win. During the rut, Laird overpowered Jeff and wrestled him to the ground, at which point Jeff conceded that Laird was the stronger stag and now the leader of the herd. In the final episode, he and the rest of the deer were eager to help the other animals defeat the rats, under Laird's agreement of course.
Jeff's name is never mentioned during his appearance in the TV series, but is later revealed in a comic that appears in the Farthing Wood Friends magazine.
