Lizard is a lizard who appears in the first book. He is the elected leader of the lizards who begin the journey from Farthing Wood to White Deer Park.
When the animals reach the army land Lizard tells the others that it would be best for all of them if the lizards were to stay behind instead of continuing the journey. All the animals except Toad are amazed by this decision and Badger insists that they should continue, but Lizard tells them that the distance will probably prove too great for them and that they would be a burden to the other animals. With the help of Toad, Lizard eventually convinces Badger that the army land is as safe as White Deer Park for the lizards, and the animals all agree that it would be best for the lizards to stay behind.
