Red Fox is a species of fox that is known for having red fur (hence the name). They are the main focus of The Animals of Farthing Wood books and television series. The most prominent Red Foxes featured are the Farthing Wood Foxes.

As well as the common red variety of Red Fox, there are also several colour variants, including the silver fox, which is featured heavily in the TV series as the blue fox. Despite the difference in colour, these silver foxes are in fact the same species as the standard red variety of fox.
